14-year old Giselle has been keeping me company when I work and doing lots of fun things with me - I love her so much - you'll learn more about her on the pages inside.
I’ve been creating animal art and stories since I was about 5 years old. From ceramic animals to paintings and even illustrated stories . I love creating art & writing surrounded by my Cocker Spaniels – they are my studio mates and muses and my Topaz Cockers have their own page here on my website, too.
My artwork has been displayed in a one-woman show at the prestigious William Secord Gallery, NYC - Here is one of the bas-relief large tiles that was on display "Palm Beach Playboy"
and at the Morris Museum and The Dinnerware Museum, among many others.
I’ve also written and illustrated a children’s picture book “Iris the Architect” and won awards for my art and writing including the top honor from the Dog Writers Association of America, the Maxwell Award, in both 2015 and 2016, 2018 and 2020, with nominations for both artwork and writing in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
I love spending time with my dogs playing, training or at dog shows.
5 year old “Bolt” (his registered name is now GCH CH Topaz Palm Beach Playboy, CD, BN, RM, CGCA, TKE, ADP-L1) is named in honor of the artwork at the top of this page and he and I shared a thrill of a lifetime – showing at Westminster Kennel Club in NYC - both at 9 months old for an Award of Merit and at 4-1/2 for Select Dog award (That's us in the video at the top of the page!).
Bolt is the first cocker spaniel in history to achieve the top honor in Trick Dog - Trick Dog Elite Perfomer! We are working on his performance for an upcoming national Tricks competition, too!
I love working with watercolor, pressed flowers, and am so inspired every day by nature and dogs - mine and others.
One of the great joys in my world is hearing stories and memories about clients’ dogs and creating special pieces to capture their essence - whether in ceramic or watercolor or other media.
My hope is to bring nearly as much joy through my artwork as the actual animal brings, or brought, to its family.
Please visit my Contact Us page or email me at debralampertrudman@gmail.com to tell me about your special pet so I may begin creating a timeless treasure for you! (Currently accepting a limited number of commissions since I'm working on a special project - stay tuned!)
Warmest Wishes and Wags to you and your fur family!
